THE LORD'S SUPPER
OBSERVANCE OF THE LORD’S SUPPER
The Lord's Supper is a believer’s celebration where we remember Christ’s death on the cross for sinners, His resurrection from the dead and His coming again.
We thank God for forgiveness of sins, righteousness and newness of life through Christ’s substitutionary death on the cross.
All whose trust and hope are in the Lord Jesus Christ alone are welcomed to participate in this special celebration.
PREPARE TO PRARTAKE OF THEBREAD
As we prepare to partake of the bread we are reminded of what Jesus said in John 6:35 Jesus said I am the bread of life. He who comes to me (he who believes in me), will never go hungry.
In John 6:47-51Jesus said: I tell you the truth, he who believes has everlasting life. I am the bread of life. Your forefathers ate the manna in the desert, yet they died. But here is the bread that comes down from heaven, which a man may eat and not die. I am the living bread that came down from heaven. If anyone eats of this bread, he will live forever.
PREPARE TO PRARTAKE OF THE CUP
As our Great High Priest, Jesus offered up Himself as The Sacrificial Lamb for sinners, being obedient to do His Father’s will, even to the point of death on a cross. It is there He shed His blood for lost sinners.
The Bible says:God made Him who knew no sin to be sin for us that we might become the righteousness of God in Him.
2 Corinthians 5:21
The Bible says: that without the shedding of blood there is no forgiveness of sins.
Hebrews 9:22
The Bible says:For you know that it was not with perishable things such as silver or gold that you were redeemed from the empty way of life handed down to you from your forefathers, but with the precious blood of Christ, a lamb without blemish or defect. 1 Peter 1:18-19
There is a fountain filled with blood, drawn from Immanuel’s veins and sinners plunged beneath that flood, lose all their guilty stains?
The dying thief rejoiced to see that fountain in his day, And there may I though vile as he have all my sins washed away.
Dear dying Lamb, Thy precious blood shall never lose its power Till all the ransomed Church of God Be saved to sin no more.
Jesus died and rose again and has been exalted from a lowly suffering servant to a conquering King! And it came by way of the cross.
The brow once crowned with thorns now wears the diadem of universal sovereignty; and the hand, once nailed to the cross, now holds in it the scepter of unlimited dominion. And He is returning for His bride.
He who lay in the tomb has ascended the throne of an unbounded empire. The lowly suffering servant, is Lord of all, seated at the right hand of the Father in the heavenly places, far above all rule and authority and power and dominion and He has had all things put under His feet. And He is returning for His bride.
Through Christ’s obedience He earned Himself a name that is above every name. There are many high names, but it is higher than all of them. No name is equal to it; all are beneath it, and without exception. It commands unlimited honor, praise, and respect. KING OF KINGS, LORD OF LORDS! And He is returning for His bride. Will you be ready?
